About The Position

The Intake Counselor is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established time frames and with input from the client and multi-disciplinary team. This role involves meeting with participant’s primary Counselor to review intake and initial treatment plan information, correcting documentation deficiencies, and assisting with weekly chart audits and discharge planning. The position also includes file room upkeep, maintaining clinical records in accordance with all regulatory, contractual, and Spectrum standards, and addressing program participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum’s clinical design. The facility is a level 2 medium security prison providing specialized treatment services to individuals with substance use disorder.

Requirements

No formal certification required.
Minimum of HS Diploma/GED.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience in administrative and records management is a plus.
Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established time frames and with input from the client and multi-disciplinary team.

Correcting all documentation deficiencies in established time frames as directed by the Clinical Supervisor.
Assisting the Clinical Supervisors with weekly chart audits and discharge planning.
File room upkeep and maintaining clinical records in accordance with all regulatory, contractual, and Spectrum standards.
Addressing program participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum’s clinical design.
