About The Position

Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health is looking for an Evening Intake Counselor! Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is a 97-bed facility located in Springfield, Illinois. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois! We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Masters Degree required in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related clinical field.
• Thorough understanding of the DSM-V criteria and assessment skills with the ability to develop quick and strong clinical rapport.
• Working knowledge of Illinois Confidentiality Act, Illinois Mental Health Code, EMTALA and ILPA process.
• Must possess a detailed understanding of psychiatric criteria for various levels of care and insurance/benefit verifications.
• Good organization skills, attentive to detail, thorough, as well as excellent oral and written clinical communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Licensure or eligibility for licensure (LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW) preferred.
• Two years of psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform primary duties satisfactorily.
• Provide de-escalation techniques and crisis stabilization.
• Utilize Trauma Informed Care and Crisis Intervention effectively.
• Work cooperatively with other hospital staff and community agencies.
