Intake Coordinator - Colonie, NY
About The Position
Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, referred to as an "Infusion Guide," who is passionate about improving infusion therapy care. This role is crucial for the company's growth, involving detailed referral and intake coordination, along with excellent customer and physician customer service. The Infusion Guide will ensure patients receive the highest level of care in infusion therapy. This is a Full-Time, onsite position based in Colonie, NY, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and an expectation to work one Saturday per month. The ideal candidate will have prior experience reading medical charts and handling insurance pre-authorizations. This role offers predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload, making it ideal for those who want to stay at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
Requirements
- Healthcare Experience Required
- Insurance Prior Authorization Experience
- Medical Terminology Experience
- Overall Medical Insurance Experience
- Ability to quickly grasp new apps
- Experience and strong familiarity utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Documentation of a negative TB test (within the last two years)
- Current BLS certification
Nice To Haves
- Prior Experience in Infusion is Preferred
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of the infusion referral process, including obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigation.
- Liaise with referring providers to obtain necessary documentation for treatment and communicate patient status.
- Communicate the referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric manner.
- Communicate openly with referring/prescribing providers.
- Assist in maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
