About The Position

The Guidance Center, a recognized leader in its field since 1958, provides a broad range of services to children, adults, and families, including treatment, prevention, growth, and education services to over 14,200 people annually. The organization focuses on nurturing development, fostering resilience, and cultivating well-being. This exciting opportunity is for an Intake Coordinator (Scheduler) within the Kids-TALK Program. In this role, the Intake Coordinator is responsible for assessing, prioritizing, processing, and scheduling all forensic interviews and medical evaluations for both Child Advocacy Center (CAC) locations, while determining the urgency and specific needs of each referral. The coordinator ensures that these interviews and evaluations are scheduled accurately and promptly with involved Multidisciplinary Team members to facilitate coordinated investigations of alleged child abuse and neglect cases. Additionally, the position involves maintaining multiple schedules for three disciplines at the CAC and accurately maintaining data and completing necessary reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services Related Field and one year of experience working with children and families.
  • This position requires the use of independent judgment solution-focused problem solving and initiative.
  • Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record is required.
  • A nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of children and their families and the ability to relate well with people of all ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • The ability to accurately assess and function in and with complex situations and community systems and maintain accurate records is required.
  • Must be computer proficient, detail-oriented, organized and be able to manage multiple assignments and duties simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to appropriately handle crisis situations, demonstrate effective communication skills, professional and welcoming persona and exemplary customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals with experience working with physically and sexually abused children and law enforcement officials and the Department of Human Services are priority candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, prioritizing, processing and scheduling all forensic interviews and medical evaluations for both locations of the CAC, while determining the urgency and needs of each referral.
  • Ensure that forensic interviews and medical evaluations are scheduled accurately and in a timely manner with involved Multidisciplinary Team members in order to ensure a coordinator investigations of cases of alleged child abuse and neglect.
  • Responsible for ensuring and maintaining multiple schedules for three of the disciplines at the CAC.
  • Responsible for maintaining data accurately and completing reports as necessary.
