About The Position

Kitay Law Offices is seeking a remote Intake Attorney with an active Pennsylvania Bar License. This role involves conducting initial legal consultations with prospective clients in criminal defense, personal injury, and workers' compensation matters. The Intake Attorney will evaluate cases, explain legal options, build rapport, and make recommendations on case acceptance. This position is crucial for converting qualified consultations into retained clients while adhering to ethical standards and firm objectives. The role requires strong legal analysis, communication, and client counseling skills, with an emphasis on a compassionate and client-focused approach in a metrics-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Pennsylvania Bar License in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Plaintiff Litigation, Pre-Litigation, Legal Intake.
  • Strong legal analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and client counseling abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience conducting legal consultations.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.
  • Experience with client conversion or intake management.
  • Experience using SmartAdvocate or similar legal case management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to build client confidence and close qualified consultations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct phone and virtual consultations with prospective clients.
  • Evaluate criminal defense, personal injury, and workers' compensation matters.
  • Identify legal issues, liabilities, damages, deadlines, and potential risks.
  • Build trust and rapport quickly with prospective clients.
  • Explain legal options clearly and confidently.
  • Guide qualified prospects through the engagement and retainer process.
  • Help convert qualified consultations into retained clients while maintaining ethical standards.
  • Make initial case acceptance and case rejection recommendations.
  • Assess legal viability and risk factors.
  • Review complex or high-value matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and leadership on challenging cases.
  • Serve as a legal resource for the Intake Team.
  • Prepare consultation summaries and case evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records within SmartAdvocate or a similar case management system.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal and ethical requirements.
  • Review fee agreements and intake-related documentation.
