About The Position

We are hiring an attorney (or legal-trained professional) to lead initial consultations with prospective clients. This role is part counselor, part consultant, and part advocate for clarity. The primary function is to engage with individuals facing significant life events such as divorce, the death of a parent, guardianship crises, or business/employment disputes, and guide them in determining if our firm is the right fit for their needs. While the work involves elements of sales, it is framed as client counseling rather than traditional sales. An attorney background is beneficial due to existing skills in asking pertinent questions during difficult conversations and understanding legal concepts in areas like family law, estate planning, probate, guardianships, employment, and business law. The role requires the ability to assess individuals, fact patterns, and financial situations to determine suitability for the firm's services, with a focus on accountability, deadlines, and outcome-based performance.

Requirements

  • Ability to sit with someone in distress and ask hard questions.
  • Understanding of family law, estate planning, probate, guardianships, employment, and business law.
  • Ability to read a person, a fact pattern, and a financial situation and determine if the firm is the right fit.
  • Comfort with accountability, deadlines, and being measured by outcomes.
  • Ability to hold a difficult conversation.
  • Willingness to ask for commitment.
  • Takes ownership of numbers.

Nice To Haves

  • JD is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Active Washington license is not required.
  • A few years of practice behind you, and decided practice isn't the long-term path.
  • Non-attorney with a strong consultative background (professional services, advisory work, financial planning, counseling) drawn to legal-adjacent work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consultations (in person and on video) with prospective clients.
  • Diagnose client needs at a high level.
  • Explain the firm's services.
  • Help prospective clients decide whether to hire the firm.
  • Follow up with individuals who do not make an immediate decision.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system.
  • Hand off new clients smoothly to the legal team.
  • Follow up with clients throughout their journey with the firm.
