About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Intake Attorney to evaluate prospective Personal Injury, Rideshare Abuse, and Mass Tort cases. This role serves as the primary legal decision-maker for the firm's intake department, reviewing escalated matters, determining case acceptance, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting a high-volume plaintiff-side intake operation. The ideal candidate is an attorney who can make sound legal decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining empathy, professionalism, and exceptional client communication skills.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: Personal Injury, Plaintiff-side Litigation, Pre-Litigation, Mass Torts, Legal Intake.
  • Strong understanding of: Personal Injury law, Liability and damages analysis, Insurance coverage principles, Statutes of limitation, Case evaluation and legal risk assessment.
  • Ability to make accurate legal decisions in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication, client counseling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, intake systems, and case management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume legal intake or case acquisition environments.
  • Experience screening Mass Tort and multi-state litigation matters.
  • Arizona Bar admission or willingness to obtain admission.
  • Experience handling trauma-informed or other sensitive client matters.
  • Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred.
  • Previous experience training or mentoring intake staff.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate prospective Personal Injury, Rideshare Abuse, and Mass Tort cases.
  • Determine whether matters should be retained or declined based on liability, damages, insurance coverage, venue, and firm guidelines.
  • Review complex, high-value, and sensitive cases with professionalism and compassion.
  • Develop and maintain intake screening criteria, qualification guidelines, and escalation procedures.
  • Serve as the primary legal resource for the intake department by providing legal guidance and support.
  • Train intake specialists on legal principles, statutes of limitation, ethics requirements, and unauthorized practice of law.
  • Ensure statutes of limitation and critical deadlines are accurately identified and documented.
  • Review fee agreements, HIPAA authorizations, disclosures, and intake documentation for legal compliance.
  • Monitor intake quality, conversion rates, and decline trends while recommending process improvements.
  • Collaborate with litigation attorneys, marketing teams, and firm leadership to align intake strategies with business objectives.
