About The Position

The Intake Assistant will be responsible for receiving and triaging referrals from various agencies including DCP&P, the prosecutor’s offices/law enforcement, schools, emergency rooms and community providers. This role involves collecting demographic information, confirming the reason for referral, gathering necessary documentation, and prepping charts for clinicians. The Intake Assistant will also consult with RN staff for second-level triage, schedule evaluations, confirm appointments, and manage rescheduling. A key responsibility includes maintaining an electronic call log to track incoming call types and meeting with the manager to review intake activity and referral trends. Additionally, the position will assist with front office duties, patient registration, and clerical coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • HS or equivalent required.
  • Medical terminology and data entry experience required.
  • Experience in an office environment and working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Some college strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and triaging referrals from various agencies including DCP&P, the prosecutor’s offices/law enforcement, schools, emergency rooms and community providers.
  • Collecting all demographic information for the referred and confirms reason for the referral.
  • Gathering payment approval, clinical, investigative and other needed documentation and preps chart for CPC clinician.
  • Consulting with CPC RN staff for second level triage when needed.
  • Scheduling appropriate level of evaluation as per CPC scope of services.
  • Confirming appointments with all involved parties thru reminder calls and appointment letters.
  • Rescheduling appointments as needed.
  • Maintaining an electronic call log to track and discern incoming call type on an ongoing basis.
  • Meeting with manager on monthly basis to review intake activity and trends of referrals.
  • Assisting with front office duties, patient registration and clerical coverage as needed.
