About The Position

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking an Intake and Support Services Coordinator to manage the initial response to discrimination complaints and other EOA-related concerns, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, relationship violence, and stalking. This role involves coordinating referrals to supportive resources, managing cases using an online system, assisting with training and educational programming, and supporting EOA efforts to resolve matters. The position also includes staffing the EOA office, managing the office budget, and supporting compliance planning through data collection and reporting. Students will be the primary beneficiaries, receiving enhanced support to prevent them from stopping out due to trauma. This is a non-exempt FLSA position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ years of work experience in a related job discipline (consideration will be given for experience gained through practicum, internship, etc.)
  • Ability to remain neutral and objective while handling highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion and compassion.
  • Experience with collecting information in a way that is both efficient and people oriented (ie., trauma informed and supportive)
  • Well developed oral and written language skills to facilitate clear communication.
  • Ability to draft thorough and detailed reports.
  • Ability to act both independently and collaboratively, and to exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage time and tasks effectively, maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and apply University policies as well as general understanding of Title IX, Title VII, and ADA/504.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience in high volume environment.
  • Crisis hotline, crisis/risk assessment, or case management experience, preferred
  • Previous experience working with sexual misconduct and other investigatory experience, preferred.
  • Previous experience working with students in a University setting.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and coordinating the initial response to discrimination complaints and other EOA related concerns (including sexual assault, sexual harassment, relationship violence, and stalking).
  • Coordinating the referral of impacted students and employees to supportive resources on campus and in the community.
  • Ongoing case management of pending matters utilizing online case tracking system.
  • Assisting with developing and managing trainings and educational programming.
  • Assisting with all aspects of EOA efforts to resolve pending matters including obtaining, managing and maintaining evidence.
  • Staffing daily EOA office coverage, promptly responding to emails and phone calls directed to EOA office points of contact.
  • Managing office budget, purchases, and administrative functions.
  • Supporting EOA compliance planning including the collection of data, creation of reports for senior management, and the maintenance of records in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
