About The Position

The Intake and Admissions Coordinator facilitates the entry of new patients into behavioral health services by managing referrals, gathering clinical history, and assessing appropriate placement into various levels of care. The role navigates patients to the appropriate level of behavioral health care based on their needs. It is part of the behavioral health inpatient program at Springfield Memorial in Springfield, Illinois, and requires a licensed, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN). A drug test is required. Signet Health is credentialed through the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) for CEUs and offers a competitive compensation package with a generous salary.

Requirements

A licensed and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Related experience in a behavioral health setting, including at least two years on an inpatient unit.
Thorough understanding of Trauma Informed Care.
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills, including experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to handle stress, maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, and demonstrate empathy for clients.
Drug test required.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to inquiries, assess admission eligibility, determine the appropriate level of care, and manage referrals.
Review referrals, assign cases, and support patient flow across levels of care.
Coordinate specialty supplies for patient needs.
Handle urgent situations and connect patients to emergency services as needed.
Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and referral sources while providing strong customer service.
