About The Position

This position serves as an Intact Services Specialist within the Upward Mobility Program (UMP). The role involves providing follow-up to parents and families to ensure appropriate linkages with service providers, offering immediate oversight to families requesting non-investigatory prevention services, and providing referral services to neighborhood/community resources. The specialist will prepare and maintain case documentation for planning, implementing, and evaluating services, and collaborate with other Departmental units to facilitate positive outcomes for non-child abuse/neglect matters, including prevention services, dependencies, court supervision, and runaways. A key responsibility includes translating and interpreting for Spanish-speaking clients, both orally and in writing, regarding available services and proper form completion. The position also requires performing other duties as assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the listed responsibilities.

Requirements

Requires ability to translate and interpret Spanish at a colloquial skill level.
Requires travel, a valid driver’s license, daily access to an automobile, and proof of vehicle insurance.
Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history
Requires physical, visual and auditory ability to carry out assigned duties.

Nice To Haves

Preferably requires a master’s degree in social work; or a master’s degree in a related human service field, supplemented by one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; or requires a bachelor’s degree in social work and one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; or requires a bachelor’s degree in a related human service field and two years of directly related professional casework/case management experience

Responsibilities

Serves as Intact Services Specialist
Provides follow up to parents and families to ensure appropriate linkages have been made with service providers
Provides immediate oversight to families who are requesting non-investigatory prevention services and provides referral services to neighborhood/community resources.
Prepares and maintains case documentation for planning, implementing, and evaluating services
Works with other Departmental units to facilitate positive outcomes and provision of services for non-child abuse/neglect matters, including prevention services, dependencies, court supervision, runaways, etc.
Translates and interprets, both orally and in writing, for Spanish speaking clients regarding services available and the proper completion of forms.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
