About The Position

West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Insurance Verification Representative part-time to join their team. The Insurance Verification Representative will be responsible for verifying patient accounts, collecting patient portions on admission, in-house & at discharge, making copies of verification information for Utilization Review, and mailing copies to the attending doctor’s office. This role also maintains an efficient patient account audit process by ensuring that all actions are accurate and completed in a timely fashion. West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over three decades. Their 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and includes a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. They offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults, with treatment offered at multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist with treatment options and insurance coverage.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
One year of related experience.

Nice To Haves

Some college
Five years of related experience in a behavioral healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Accurately verifies insurance for all Inpatient & RTC admissions for all available programs.
Maintains written documentation of verification information and emails VOBs within 24 hours of admission during work week.
Responsible for financial counseling on admission, while in house and/or at d/c.
Maintains thorough records to ensure follow up on all admissions.
Other job duties as assigned
