About The Position

Minnwest is seeking an Insurance Support Specialist for our Tracy or Slayton location. This position is responsible for ensuring a great customer experience for our insurance customers. The Insurance Support Specialist needs to have excellent communication, interpersonal, and service skills, relating to customers with tact, efficiency, accuracy and confidentiality. This position must be able to identify customer’s needs and build and maintain relationships. The candidate should have good problem-solving skills, decision making skills, time management skills, and organizational ability. Sound mathematical ability and keyboard skills are also important. This person must have the ability to work in a variety of capacities and make sound decisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 years of customer service/sales experience
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • Obtain Property and Casualty license within six months of hire
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in an insurance agency setting
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls within three rings and accurately direct callers to appropriate team member.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, billing clarification, change endorsements, and claim submissions.
  • Call clients to set up appointments for insurance reviews and new client follow up calls.
  • Greet walk-in clients and direct clients to appropriate team member.
  • Responsible for maintaining and purging paper files within the guidelines of state requirement for retention of information.
  • Responsible for daily activities (i.e., downloads, scanning items into AMS) and general maintenance of information in AMS.
  • Provide documents to public accountants, state examiners, and Internal Revenue Service agents as requested. Follow all systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations.
  • Responsible for general accounting functions, but not limited to accounts payable and receivable, daily deposits, reconciling monthly commission statements, posting, and issuing checks.
