About The Position

The Insurance Product and Filing Analyst is a critical role responsible for coordinating and executing state regulatory filing activities across multiple lines of business. In addition to managing the regulatory filing lifecycle, this position supports insurance product maintenance and development activities by serving as a policy forms subject matter resource and product support partner. This role collaborates closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, IT, and Corporate Compliance to ensure policy forms, endorsements, and related product changes align with underwriting intent, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards. The position supports the company’s growth and profitability objectives through effective state filings execution, form management, and product change support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 year/bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 0-5 years of experience in standard commercial and personal lines programs of insurance, including coverage concepts, rating procedures, and underwriting philosophies.
  • SERFF Experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically to advance organizational interests.

Nice To Haves

  • CPCU preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Policy Form, product development, pricing, or state filings and regulatory compliance is preferred, NOT required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate state filing processes for assigned products and programs, including Specialty and Commercial Lines, ensuring timely and accurate submission of policy forms, endorsements, rules, and related materials through SERFF (or similar portal) and applicable desk-filings processes
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on state regulatory filings and policy forms, supporting underwriting and product teams with regulatory guidance and form interpretation
  • Support insurance product lifecycle activities by coordinating filings related to product launches, coverage updates, form revisions, and state expansions
  • Act as a policy forms subject matter expert by assisting with the design, drafting, review, and maintenance of policy forms, endorsements, and notices, including state specific variations
  • Prepare filing documentation and support materials, including form checklists, transmittals, explanatory memoranda, and regulator ready responses to Department of Insurance objections
  • Manage DOI inquiries and objections related to form language by coordinating internal review, drafting responses, proposing alternative language, and tracking approvals and resubmissions
  • Support product and underwriting stakeholders by helping translate underwriting intent into compliant policy language and filing narratives
  • Monitor and interpret state legislation and insurance regulations impacting assigned products and communicate required impacts to underwriting and product teams
  • Support internal product governance by maintaining accurate documentation, tracking approved forms and versions, and ensuring changes are implemented consistently
  • Conduct limited competitor and market form reviews to support form updates, filing strategy, and internal recommendations
  • Assist with rate filing support as needed by coordinating documentation and exhibits related to product changes and form impacts
