About The Position
As an Insurance Market Conduct Examiner 1 with the PA Insurance Department, you will support the mission of protecting consumers and promoting fair insurance practices. Requirements
- Successful completion of the Insurance Market Conduct Examiner Trainee training program
- One year of professional experience in insurance market conduct examinations, insurance company financial examinations, insurance investigations, insurance financial analysis, insurance underwriting, insurance policy review and analysis, insurance claims administration, or insurance sales, and a bachelor’s degree
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Be able to perform essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Help prepare examination data calls and request information from insurance companies
- Apply random sampling techniques to gather meaningful statistics about company practices
- Develop interview questions and participate in interviews with company representatives
- Examine company files and records to check adherence to Pennsylvania and federal regulations
- Assist in analyzing compliance with mental health parity requirements under federal law
- Identify violations and gather documentation to support examination findings
