About The Position

The Insurance Eligibility Specialist will manage inbound insurance tickets for both members and providers. This role involves handling inquiries related to accepted insurance plans, client volume questions, and provider status with payors. Additionally, the specialist will address customer inquiries concerning insurance discrepancies, adding insurance, and complex billing, bug-related, or investigative issues. Communication will primarily be via email, with some limited phone support. The team currently handles 250-300 email/tickets daily, with an expectation of increase. The role is a contract-to-hire position.

Requirements

  • 2+ year of healthcare experience
  • Experience working with health plans
  • Knowledge of: Billing, EOBs, Deductibles, copays, coinsurance
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to take feedback well
  • Comfortable with shifting priorities and evolving processes

Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound insurance tickets across members and providers
  • Handle provider inquiries such as: Accepted insurance plans, Client volume questions, Status with payors
  • Handle customer inquiries such as: Insurance discrepancies, Adding insurance, Complex billing, bug-related, or investigative issues
  • Communicate primarily via email, with some phone support
  • Start with email-based support
  • Gradually increase complexity of tickets
  • Transition into phone support once comfortable (limited support)
