We are seeking a sharp insurance editor to empower consumers with the knowledge needed to make the best insurance-related decisions. As an editor on the insurance team, you’ll edit, write and update ratings pages, company profiles and informational content; help conduct search engine optimization research; and use analytics to monitor the performance of our content and make recommendations.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in professional editing at a media company or equivalent experience.
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
Strong copy editing skills.
Strong writing skills.
Interest in insurance and other money topics.
Ability to edit content for multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to write new content or updates as needed.
Strong knowledge of data research and journalism best practices.
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
Expertise and experience using AP style.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Ability to collaborate with multiple teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Insurance writing.
Experience with project management tools such as AirTable.
Experience using SEO tools and employing SEO best practices to optimize content.
Experience with AI systems such as Gemini.
Experience analyzing data and incorporating findings into content.
Experience editing in a content management system.
Experience using Google Docs and Sheets.
Familiarity with SEMRush or Conductor.
Experience with traffic analytics tools like Google Analytics.
Ability to identify opportunities to improve content and better engage our audience.

Responsibilities

Edit, write and update ratings pages, company profiles and informational content.
Help conduct search engine optimization research.
Use analytics to monitor the performance of our content and make recommendations.
Edit and write car insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance, pet insurance, renters insurance, specialty insurance and small business insurance content.
Update and edit content, and write new content when needed.
Evaluate content for flow, consistency, tone, audience, length, accuracy and SEO.
Update and maintain our library of content.
Fact-checking.
Write pages associated with our “Best” lists to ensure error-free work.
Write company reviews.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the SEO, Production, Product and Business groups.
Assist in creating or maintaining various content calendars.
