Our client is an established Miami law firm with decades of experience representing clients throughout Florida is seeking an Insurance Defense Civil Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing team. Please note that this is a fully onsite position in this law firm's Coral Gables, FL., location. The ideal candidate will have experience handling civil defense litigation matters and be comfortable managing cases through various stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. The firm is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is committed to providing exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active Florida Bar license in good standing
  • Strong understanding of civil defense litigation procedures and strategy
  • Experience drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery documents
  • Ability to conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written arguments
  • Familiarity with Florida court procedures and litigation practice
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Deposition experience preferred
  • Prior litigation experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents
  • Conduct legal research and develop well-supported legal arguments
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings
  • Conduct and defend depositions, including fact and expert witnesses
  • Assist with trial preparation and trial strategy
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Analyze legal issues, assess case exposure, and develop litigation strategies
  • Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines in a high-volume practice
