About The Position

Ensures that all hospital-based providers are credentialed and recertified with applicable payers, working in conjunction with the 4 Southern Region hospitals, legal and regulatory affairs, and Professional Billing. This role requires strong skills in customer service, communication, problem-solving, organization, and prioritizing assignments. The specialist must understand third-party payer regulations for enrollment and reverification of medical providers, maintain collaborative working relationships, and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of all data. Time management, keyboarding, and multi-tasking abilities are essential, along with a commitment to providing friendly, service-oriented customer support.

Requirements

• Associate degree or 3 years related work experience in health care billing required
• 2 years of previous medical billing experience, professional billing preferred
• Excellent communication and customer relation skills
• Proficient computer skills including Excel, Power Point, Word, and all web-based payer requirements
• Working knowledge of third-party payers
• Detail oriented and willing to learn
• Confidentiality of all information is imperative
• Demonstrates skills in customer service, communication and problem solving
• Demonstrates organization and prioritizing assignments
• Demonstrates understanding of third-party payer regulations for enrollment and reverification of medical providers
• Exhibits time management skills, keyboarding skills, and multi-tasking abilities

Responsibilities
