About The Position
The Kaufman Dolowich Chicago office is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its growing Insurance Coverage and Litigation Practice. This role involves working on sophisticated insurance coverage matters for national, regional, and international insurance carriers across a broad range of coverage lines. Requirements
- 3+ years of insurance coverage and/or insurance coverage litigation experience
- JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Admission to practice in Illinois required
- Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the areas of professional liability, Directors & Officers (D&O), and/or financial institutions coverage
- Indiana admission is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage a full litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Interpret insurance policies and draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and disclaimer letters
- Litigate insurance coverage matters, including handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic advice and regular case updates
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups to develop innovative, client-focused solutions
