About The Position

Physicians East, P.A. is seeking a leader to monitor the revenue cycle of each payer and actively contribute to revenue cycle improvement efforts. This role involves providing feedback to other supervisors and managers, supervising the insurance and billing department, and ensuring the practice management system meets the needs of the organization. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycles and payer procedures.

Requirements

  • Requires an associate degree in Health Care Management or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years or greater of relevant experience in healthcare and strong understanding of physician revenue cycle and practice management system is required.
  • Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills required.
  • Knowledge of third party and insurance procedures, regulations and billing requirements, and government reimbursement programs.
  • Have strong ability to lead and or work as a member of various cross-functional teams.
  • Well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Understanding of customer service principles.
  • Must have strong software skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software applications such as NextGen, Centricity and/or related.

Responsibilities

  • Write and run reports and analyze data to monitor the revenue cycle of each payer, including reviewing claim submissions, clearinghouse data, denials, outstanding pending claims, credits, and patient billing.
  • Provide feedback to other managers to help improve revenue cycle.
  • Actively contribute to revenue cycle improvement efforts.
  • Supervise and manage scanning, personal payment posting, insurance posting, refund, and insurance personnel.
  • Maintain personnel records of direct reports including timecards, PTO, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct employee evaluations.
  • Analyze practice management system to ensure that it is meeting the needs of Physicians East.
  • Monitor task completion and effectiveness.
  • Suggest ways to improve or modify tasking to better meet the needs of Physicians East.
  • Actively search for opportunities to improve processes related to the revenue cycle.
  • Monitor clearinghouse performance and activities.
  • Provide training and feedback to employees to encourage strong performance and allow for flexibility within the department.
  • Ensure that direct reports follow Physician East Policies and Procedures.
  • Take action to reduce denials by identifying issues and effectively communicating them with other supervisors and managers.
  • Order supplies and submit service requests related to direct reports and equipment.
  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to reduce cost.
  • Communicate with executives, managers, and supervisors throughout Physicians East to resolve issues.
  • Communicate with payers to resolve issues. Attend meetings with payer representatives. Provide feedback as appropriate.
  • Educate staff to keep up to date regarding payer related changes.
  • Address and resolve patient complaints.
  • Serve as back up for other supervisors as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Duties may change frequently based upon the needs of Physicians East.
