About The Position

Kemper is hiring a full-time, field-based Life Insurance Sales Agent in Canton, Ohio. The role serves modest-income families through personal visits with new and existing customers, helping them protect the people and property they cherish. New unlicensed agents receive paid training, study tools, and guidance to prepare for licensing exams. Once licensed, agents are assigned a territory and an established book of business. Compensation is fully commission-based: agents earn a percentage of collected premiums and commissions on new sales, with potential income tied to performance. Strong performance may be recognized through awards, prizes, and company-sponsored trips. The position includes onboarding with self-study, classroom instruction, and field mentoring by a Sales Manager, as well as hands-on on-the-job training.

Requirements

Customer service experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license and required auto insurance coverage.
Dependable vehicle for daily travel.
Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening.
Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Conduct sales presentations, recommend products, and close new sales.
Prospect for new sales opportunities.
Maintain customer relationships by collecting premiums on a pre-arranged schedule established by the agent.
Respond promptly to customer service requests, including beneficiary changes, claims, and loans.
Keep records, account for collected money, and process policy paperwork.
Grow the assigned territory through new sales.
Build strong working relationships with customers.
Devote the time needed to fulfill the role’s responsibilities.
Pursue ongoing professional development in insurance products and sales effectiveness.
