About The Position

We are looking for someone to join our Operations team as an Agency Operations Specialist to help our team maintain agent carrier appointments, ensure carrier website access, monitor compliance of agent licenses, assist with agent onboarding, act as an admin of our Agency Management System (we use EZLynx), and help our team prepare and process agent commissions. This job is great for an “insurance nerd”: someone who loves both the insurance industry and technology. Our team loves finding creative ways to use software and automations to get work done. Please note: If you get this job, you’ll do your daily work from home . However, Firefly holds three required in-person meetings each year in Columbus, Ohio. We know from experience that proximity to Columbus matters. That’s why we’re looking for candidates who live in one of these states: Ohio Illinois Indiana Kentucky Michigan North Carolina Pennsylvania Tennessee West Virginia You will need to have your own high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free place where you can do your work. Firefly will provide the tools you need to work effectively from home, including a computer, software phone, email, task management, electronic documents, and website access. This position requires you to have a high comfort level working in a paperless environment.

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience in the insurance industry, which could include: Experience working in an insurance agency, either as a producer , CSR , or office manager . Experience working for an insurance company, either in a licensing , commissions , or sales support Experience working for company that provides services to insurance agents or insurance companies.
  • You must love using technology to make work simpler, faster, and more consistent.

Nice To Haves

  • Excel proficiency – Our team deals with a lot of data and reports. Familiarity with Excel would allow you to achieve outcomes quicker. (Bonus points if you have experience with Excel’s Power Query tool to access data from cloud databases.)
  • Familiarity with EZLynx or other Agency Management System , either as a user or admin.
  • Familiarity with the basics of insurance agent licensing practices .
  • Experience working with process automation tools . Our team uses Microsoft’s Power Automate every day in our workflows to get more work done with faster and more consistent outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the carrier appointments of our agent and producer force.
  • Help agents maintain access to carrier websites and tools.
  • Maintain records of the Insurance Licenses of our agents.
  • Monitor the status of agent licenses to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Act as an AMS admin to create new branches and user accounts, oversee downloads, and manage user settings.
  • Run reports to assist with projects and carrier changes.
  • Help us keep our book of business organized.
  • Help our team make sure agents are paid accurately and on time.
  • Help gather monthly commission statements from our carrier partners.
  • Help match operating costs incurred by our agent force with the correct branch. These costs include things like charges for MVR or CLUE reports, software subscriptions, etc.

  • Pay will be based on skills and experience $29.81 to $32.19 p/ hour (that’s $62,004.80 to $66,965.18 per year)
