Why this role matters At Truliant Federal Credit Union, our insurance team helps clients protect what matters most through responsive service, accurate policy support, and thoughtful follow up. As an Account Manager I, you’ll help clients manage their personal insurance policies, resolve service needs, and receive professional, timely support throughout the life of their coverage. What you’ll do In this role, you’ll support a designated group of personal insurance accounts while partnering with clients, carriers, and Insurance Agents. You’ll balance responsive service, policy updates, careful documentation, organized follow up, and opportunities to connect clients with additional coverage support. Day to day, you’ll: Manage policy service requests from intake through completion, including binders, endorsements, coverage changes, cancellations, premium follow up, and requests for additional information. Keep clients, carriers, and agency partners informed through timely correspondence, organized follow up, and complete documentation of material conversations and policy activity. Identify potential coverage needs, increased limits, referrals, and cross sell opportunities, then connect clients with an Insurance Agent for guidance and next steps. Beyond that, your work will include maintaining current knowledge of rating products and agency processes, participating in training and development, and assisting with projects that strengthen the overall client experience.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of insurance customer service experience, or equivalent financial services or credit union experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been acquired.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to respond professionally to clients, carriers, Insurance Agents, and internal partners.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills, with the ability to track outstanding items and meet policy service deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast paced and complex environment while adjusting priorities when needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote, with the ability to learn and use insurance rating products and agency processes.
  • Ability to document client and carrier conversations accurately, follow agency errors and omissions guidelines, and complete policy changes and service requests with care.
  • A strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant’s internal and external members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • North Carolina Property & Casualty insurance license is required, or the exam must be passed within six weeks of attending the pre licensing program.
  • Comfortable working independently within established procedures, following up consistently, handling general office responsibilities, and asking questions when a client’s needs require additional guidance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using the Vertafore AMS360 agency management system.
  • Experience with personal lines policy servicing, carrier correspondence, insurance rating, referrals, or cross sell conversations.
  • Familiarity with coverage changes, endorsements, binders, cancellations, premium collection, or suspense and follow up systems.
