This role involves the installation, configuration, calibration, and repair of instrumentation systems. The technician will develop proper instrumentation setups, troubleshoot issues, and operate, calibrate, install, program, repair, design, and fabricate instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Responsibilities include maintaining data acquisition systems, test cells, rigs, and rig rooms; calibrating, installing, programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and assembling test systems, general and specialized instrumentation. The position also requires installing, operating, modifying, and troubleshooting PCs and PC networks used for instrumentation engineering activities. The technician will evaluate and specify new equipment, develop new technology, and install and maintain electronic engine monitoring systems. Additionally, they will fabricate and assemble test fixtures and servo-hydraulic systems, operate, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems, shakers, and rigs, and calibrate transducers and systems. Installation and calibration of strain gauges and thermocouples (micro) are also part of the role. The technician will maintain parts and equipment inventories, create and maintain electronic documentation, and use general tools such as digital multimeters, soldering irons, function generators, and frequency generators. Reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams is essential. The role includes working with and training apprentices and technicians, interfacing with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions, and coordinating programs through planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. Participation in the maintenance of quality procedures, leading and participating in improvement projects, and developing and giving presentations to customers and suppliers are also key aspects of the position. The technician will perform other duties as required.
