  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting EPC projects in power generation, industrial, utility, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and process control systems; PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI platforms; industrial communication protocols; and process automation and control strategies.
  • Experience with instrument indexes and I/O databases, loop diagrams and wiring schematics, P&IDs and process control documentation, and control system architecture development.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, communication and interpersonal skills, organizational and project management capabilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently execute complex engineering assignments and mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel periodically for client meetings, field verification, construction support, and commissioning activities.
  • Ability to work in active industrial, power generation, and construction environments as required.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of instrumentation and control systems for EPC projects.
  • Develop, review, and maintain instrument indexes and I/O lists; instrument specifications and data sheets; control system architecture diagrams; loop and wiring diagrams; control narratives and cause-and-effect matrices; and P&ID reviews and instrumentation markups.
  • Specify and evaluate field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments; analytical instrumentation; control valves and actuators; and process monitoring and safety devices.
  • Ensure designs comply with project requirements, client specifications, and industry standards.
  • Design and support PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems for industrial and power generation facilities.
  • Develop I/O assignments, control system architectures, and communication network layouts.
  • Review and support development of control logic, functional descriptions, and system operating philosophies.
  • Coordinate instrumentation integration with electrical and process control systems, and support cybersecurity and control-system reliability considerations where applicable.
  • Perform technical evaluations and engineering reviews of instrumentation and control system designs.
  • Review vendor documentation, control system packages, and instrumentation submittals; evaluate performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational requirements.
  • Support technical specifications for procurement and construction, and troubleshoot complex instrumentation and control issues.
  • Execute instrumentation engineering activities through conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning.
  • Develop material take-offs, instrument schedules, and equipment lists; support project estimating and engineering scope development.
  • Monitor assigned deliverables for compliance with project schedules and budgets, and support construction work packages and commissioning plans.
  • Coordinate designs with electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, process, and construction teams; participate in interdisciplinary design, HAZOP, and constructability reviews as required.
  • Resolve design interface issues and ensure automation systems integrate with overall facility operations.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, startup, and commissioning; participate in FAT, SAT, and system validation activities.
  • Support loop checks, instrument calibration, functional testing, and troubleshooting; respond to RFIs and field engineering issues; assist with startup, turnover, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, client specifications, and applicable codes and standards; perform quality reviews and maintain accurate documentation and revision control.
  • Support continuous improvement and development of engineering best practices.
