Worldwide Oilfield Machine Midland, TX, US, TX

About The Position

TFS is looking for a sharp, hands-on Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to join our Technology Development team in Midland, TX. We’re building the next generation of frac valve and well-control equipment, and we need a technician who can wire it up, make it work, and keep it running in the field. This isn’t a panel-shop-only role. You’ll spend time on the bench, time in the lab, and time at the wellsite. If you like solving problems that don’t have a textbook answer and you want your fingerprints on technology that’s actually new, you’ll fit right in here.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years experience as an I&E Tech, E-Tech, Controls Tech, or Field Service Tech (oil & gas preferred, but strong industrial experience welcome).
  • Solid electrical and instrumentation fundamentals: schematics, loop sheets, low-voltage DC, 120 / 240 / 480V AC, sensor calibration.
  • Real mechanical aptitude. Our equipment is valves, hydraulic skids, and mechanical actuation. You should be comfortable turning wrenches as well as terminating wires.
  • Working familiarity with PLCs and HMIs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Self-starter who can read a schematic, ask the right questions, and solve a problem without waiting for someone to tell them how.
  • Valid driver’s license, willingness to travel ~25-30% (mostly Permian Basin), and ability to pass standard oilfield safety screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Hydraulic system experience.
  • Motion control, servo, or VFD work.
  • TWIC, SafeLandUSA, OSHA-10 / 30, or comparable certifications.

  • Building and wiring electrical and instrumentation packages for cutting-edge electric, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic equipment.
  • Installing and calibrating sensors, transmitters, and actuators.
  • Supporting PLC, HMI, and motion-controller integration and tuning.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on prototype and field equipment - in the shop and at the wellsite.
  • Working alongside engineers to refine designs based on what you find in the field.
  • Commissioning new equipment for our customers and providing technical support during deployments.

  • Competitive compensation
  • full benefits
