About The Position

Performs the majority of I&E duties above 55 Volts AC/DC up to 4160 Volts AC/DC with minimal supervision. Installs pneumatic tubing, electrical, and electronic installations on equipment in the production area. This role involves maintaining a safe and well-organized work environment, performing major electrical repairs and installations, and completing required documentation accurately and timely. The position also includes training and developing entry and intermediate employees, diagnosing PLC panels with factory representative assistance, and maintaining a file of installation designs and techniques for new units through pictures and diagrams. Responsibilities extend to installing pneumatic tubing, fabricating bracket braces and instrument racks, performing required tubing tests, bending and installing various types of conduit and tubing, installing wire and cable, testing control panels, and making final electrical connections. The role also requires performing unit certification, final inspection, and test documentation.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all essential duties.
  • Provide direction from blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems arising during the test cycle.
  • Troubleshoot motor controls (energized).
  • Read blueprints and read/interpret NEC.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Read General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
  • Communicate with suppliers of electrical components to design hook-ups on panels.
  • Assist with mechanical assembly.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Expected to interpret and follow manufacturers Drawings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically at least 5 + years’ related experience.
  • Some experience in the area of electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment.
  • Perform Major Electrical repairs and installs alone or as part of a team.
  • Completes and submits required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Utilize on-the-job training of all shop mechanic personnel.
  • Develop and train entry and intermediate employees.
  • Diagnosis with factory rep help of PLC panels.
  • Make changes to panel selection, wiring, etc.
  • Maintain a file of installation design and technique for new units through pictures and diagrams.
  • Install pneumatic tubing, lay tubing on skids, and connect to end devices.
  • Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks.
  • Perform required testing of tubing.
  • Bend, fabricate, and install rigid / aluminum EMT, plasti-bond conduit, tubing, and stainless steel 1/4" - 1" thick.
  • Install wire and cable by hand, by machine, and in cable trays.
  • Test control panels and make connections that ensure the function of the panel yields accurate results.
  • Perform unit certification, final inspection, and test document.
  • Make final electrical connections after installation of conduit and tubing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
