About The Position

ARLANXEO has a new career opportunity available at our Orange, TX manufacturing site for Instrumentation & Electrical (PCS) Technician and I&E (PCS) Technician Trainee. Successful candidates will be hired directly by ARLANXEO. Other successful candidates will be hired by a contractor in the Technician Trainee program, which will be used to fill future ARLANXEO Operating Technician vacancies as business and personal performance necessitates. As an I&E Technician, you are responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems in a synthetic rubber chemical plant. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of process control systems, electrical distribution, and instrumentation equipment to support continuous plant operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or certificate from an accredited school of instrumentation and/or electronics, or completion of an approved apprenticeship program and 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • 3 years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
  • Must be experienced in maintenance of and qualified to work on, electrical systems and controls from 4160 to 120 VAC.
  • Experience in distributive control systems, programmable logic controllers, microprocessor-based instruments, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, computers, etc.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical and instrument drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Instrument/Electrical equipment troubleshooting, repair and replacement.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, drives, MCCs, and lighting.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and repair process instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
  • Perform loop checks, signal testing, and control system diagnostics (PLC/DCS).
  • Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Support plant operations by responding to equipment failures and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in commissioning and start-up of new equipment and systems.
  • PSRM Maintenance.
  • Immediate reporting of unsure acts and conditions that you are unsure of their hazard(s).
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support emergency repairs and respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize production impact.
