About The Position

Quality Process Services (QPS) is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician with strong pneumatic instrumentation experience to support offshore oil and gas production operations in the Gulf of America. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation, control systems, pneumatic equipment, and electrical systems critical to safe and efficient facility operations. This position requires a self-motivated technician capable of working independently offshore while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of offshore I&E Technician experience.
  • Strong experience with pneumatic instrumentation and control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting oil and gas production instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, and loop diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of process control systems and safety shutdown systems.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • TWIC Card.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Calibrate and test pressure, temperature, level, flow, and analytical instruments.
  • Diagnose and resolve instrumentation failures and control system issues.
  • Perform loop checks, commissioning, and startup support activities.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, electrical schematics, and instrument data sheets.
  • Document calibration, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic control systems and components.
  • Maintain pneumatic controllers, transmitters, positioners, regulators, relays, and associated tubing systems.
  • Diagnose instrument air system issues and ensure proper operation of pneumatic control loops.
  • Bend, route, and install stainless steel tubing and fittings.
  • Verify proper operation of pneumatic safety and shutdown systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain motors, motor controls, breakers, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Perform electrical terminations and wiring installations as required.
  • Support maintenance of generators, production equipment, and facility electrical systems.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment including multimeters and insulation resistance testers.
  • Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox meetings, and safety audits.
  • Maintain compliance with offshore operating procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Identify and communicate equipment deficiencies and safety concerns.
  • Support emergency response efforts when required.
