Pay Range: $24.45/HR to $34.80/HR. Onsite Position. JOB STATEMENT: We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Control Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair industrial instrumentation and automated control systems. This role supports safe and efficient plant operations by ensuring process control equipment and electrical systems function reliably and accurately. The ideal candidate has strong experience with instrumentation, PLC systems, process controls, and industrial maintenance in manufacturing, utilities, food processing, energy, or similar industrial environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience working with industrial instrumentation and control systems in a manufacturing, utility, refinery, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work in winery production environments with exposure to noise, moving equipment, wet conditions, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces as required
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, calibration equipment, and testing devices
  • Ability to distinguish colors for wiring, instrumentation, and control system identification
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and protective footwear
  • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance situations and work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed
  • Ability to safely work around electrical systems, automated machinery, chemicals, and production equipment
  • Must be able to maintain regular attendance and reliable performance in a fast-paced production environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, and control valves preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, process controls, calibration procedures, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Proficiency with computer-based maintenance systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on job location and travel needs.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Calibrate transmitters, sensors, gauges, flow meters, analyzers, and control valves.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, HMI systems, VFDs, and automated process control systems.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Test and verify instrument accuracy using calibration and diagnostic tools.
  • Assist with commissioning and startup of new equipment and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, calibration records, and work documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve system performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programs.
