About The Position

Responsible for the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instruments. Field Instruments include pressure / temperature / flow / level transmitters, switches, analyzers, recorders, controllers, I/P’s, control valves, boiler control systems, etc. Ability to troubleshoot PLC and DCS hardware problems. Ability to work outdoors in an industrial environment. Install and maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment and processes.

Requirements

  • Two year degree or certificate in Instrument Technology or related field
  • Ability to troubleshoot open and closed loop systems and controllers
  • Bench set actuators and mounts for control valves
  • Install and set up a positioner on a control valve
  • Interpret valve markings and nameplate information
  • Identify valve components from specific drawings
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Work in a safe manner and use proper safety equipment
  • Ability to walk, climb, squat, bend, kneel, crawl, twist or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to wear necessary PPE including respirator and SCBA (must be clean shaven).
  • Ability to work in a physical outdoor industrial environment (including during inclement weather).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated locations.
  • Ability to use a fire extinguisher or other firefighting equipment in emergency situations.
  • Must pass pre-screening requirements, including a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Respirator test (must be clean shaven) and drug screen.
