About The Position

Franklin International is seeking an Instrumentation Calibration Technician for an on-site role at its facility at 2020 Bruck Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207. The position promotes product quality by accurately and promptly calibrating tools and measuring devices, maintaining calibration systems and documentation, and supporting production, laboratory, and maintenance teams. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with flexibility in hours. Franklin International is a Columbus-based, family-owned manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants. The company employs over 400 people at its Columbus headquarters and distributes products in 60 countries.

Requirements

Associate’s degree and/or related technical training in instrumentation and controls.
Two years of related experience.
Ability to research, learn, and use new technology related to calibration.

Responsibilities

Calibrate or adjust equipment against certified equipment traceable to recognized national or international standards, and document the basis when no such standards exist.
Assist with troubleshooting production and laboratory equipment related to calibration accuracy.
Review corrective action reports (CARs) related to calibration and measurement capability as needed.
Perform inspections required to support and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
Assist in determining and establishing equipment tolerances.
Establish and maintain calibration schedules, evaluating and adjusting them based on calibration records.
Establish and maintain a documented system for plant equipment calibration.
Repair measuring devices and other equipment.
Create and maintain documented calibration procedures, equipment lists, equipment files, and manuals.
Obtain calibration data using collection devices and test equipment.
Maintain calibration records and equipment information using calibration software.
Assign identification numbers and tags to plant equipment.
Cooperate with other departments in support of company objectives.
Coordinate with production, engineering, quality, and laboratory personnel when equipment must be taken out of service for calibration or repair.
Adjust schedules to respond immediately when maintenance repairs require calibration before equipment returns to service, helping avoid unnecessary downtime.
Notify maintenance about broken or malfunctioning equipment found during scheduled calibration and generate work orders for repairs as needed.
Follow safety and environmental guidelines when handling products, raw materials, and wastes.
