About The Position

Provide direct leadership to Instrument Tech and Process Tech maintenance crews and contractors performing mill corrective maintenance work, preventive/predictive maintenance, and reliability improvement. Assist in troubleshooting equipment with Electrical and Instrumentation personnel. Work with Process Control Engineers on DCS systems and troubleshooting. Requirements

  • Five years relevant experience including leadership of personnel.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • PC proficient and knowledgeable in the use of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and CMMS systems.
  • Application experience with DCS, PLCs, VFDs, field instrumentation, MCC’s and Medium voltage systems.
  • Working knowledge of loop/instrumentation tuning/calibration and applications, process control, power generation, and electrical infrastructure systems and components.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Pulp and Paper or related manufacturing process industries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily direction and supervision to the Instrument and Process Tech crews.
  • Ensures work orders are planned/scheduled including safety provisions, job plans, and as done work history.
  • Meets daily with the crew to ensure business objectives are being met as it pertains to safety, environmental, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Ensures work is coordinated with maintenance, production, scheduling/planning, and mill contractors.
  • Schedules the crew work and accurately documents pay compensation.
  • Implements and adheres to E&I and Process Control best practices as outlined by site leadership (completed work orders, planned, scheduled, predictive, and preventive) and reliability improvement.
  • Have a performance/objective tracking system in place and visible to crews.
  • Works as part of the maintenance team as a service group to production, engineering, and management.
