About The Position

We are looking for our next Instrumentation and Controls Electrical Technician Lead to join our team at Tualatin Valley Water District! You will be responsible for leading a team of two other SCADA Technicians in maintaining, testing, and upgrading TVWD’s and the Willamette Water Supply System’s (WWSS) supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. The data collection and reporting that you three facilitate will help staff effectively control water system operations. You’ll be an integral part of keeping water flowing smoothly to 222,800 people. TVWD’s new water source, the WWSS, will be operational in late 2026 or early 2027. TVWD is the managing agency of this supply and responsible for the design and construction of future expansions as well as its integration into the current TVWD water system. TVWD is always working on a variety of capital improvement projects aimed at improving the resiliency of our water system infrastructure. This team manages TVWD’s reservoirs, pump stations, and pressure regulating stations, ensuring reliable delivery to our customers. In addition to TVWD’s system, the SCADA Team will support Operations at the WWSS water treatment plant, WWSS raw water facility, and turnouts. The team brings a diverse skillset to the table, and collaboration is key—they are always willing to help each other out.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a college or technical school in industrial controls, automation, instrumentation, computer science, computer programming, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience using programming languages, control software, industrial control programming, and related tools for industrial process controls systems design or similar.
  • Some supervisory experience.
  • A Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license or higher as issued by the Oregon Building Codes Division or have the ability to obtain one within one year of accepting the position.
