Instrument Technician - Atrium Health Cabarrus, Full Time Evening
About The Position
This full-time Evening Instrument Technician position is located in Sterile Processing Services at Atrium Health Cabarrus. The role involves adhering to safety standards, identifying and performing manual and/or mechanical cleaning of general instrumentation according to manufacturer instructions for use (IFU). The technician will determine, prepare, and use supplies for the assembly process, identify, inspect, and assemble general instruments, checking for cleanliness and functionality using count sheets. Packaging and labeling instrumentation, safely operating sterilization equipment, and performing verification and documentation of the sterilization process are key responsibilities. The role includes performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma) sterilization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required within 2 years of hire.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to safety standards.
- Identifies manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to the manufacturer's IFU for all general instrumentation.
- Determines, prepares, and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
- Identifies, inspects, assembles general instruments, checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets.
- Packages and labels instrumentation.
- Safely operates sterilization equipment and perform verification and documentation of sterilization process.
- Performs high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma) sterilization.
