About The Position

The Instrument Technician is responsible for the sterile supplies and maintenance of the ambulatory surgical center. This role involves the preparation, storage, processing, and sterilization of instrument trays and supplies. The technician will ensure and maintain adequate supply levels, check for broken, defective, out-dated, or missing items and report them to the manager. They must adhere to procedures in accordance with department and OSHA guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher education.
  • Experience in a medical or hospital environment, preferably working with medical surgical supplies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Requires extensive mobility (walking an standing) while performing duties.
  • Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and/or equipment.
  • May have exposure to patients with communicable diseases.
  • May have exposure to hazardous equipment or agents.

Nice To Haves

  • Sterile processing certification a plus.
