The Instrument Technician will adhere to safety standards, identify, respond to, and report malfunctions and/or alarms. This role performs efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment. The technician will identify manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to the manufacturer's IFU for all general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, power, instrumentation. They will perform flexible scope processing utilizing High Level Disinfection (HLD). The role involves determining, preparing, and using supplies required in the assembly process. The technician will identify, inspect, and assemble general & specialty instruments checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets. Packaging and labeling instrumentation following standards is also a key responsibility. The technician will safely determine sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance with verification and documentation of sterilization process. This includes performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
