About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for performing semi-routine activities on simple to moderately complex laboratory instrumentation. Assignments are completed by following technical documents and implementing technical and mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding methodologies to repair, review, QC test and file reports for new and internal use instruments in an in-house factory service center.

Requirements

HS Diploma Required; 2 years formalized technical/mechanical training or education (e.g. associate's degree, Military Occupational Specialty, etc..); 2 years of experience working in a technical / mechanical field.
Must have knowledge of and be comfortable working with potentially bio-hazardous materials.
Strong understanding of technical protocols, electronic test equipment and mechanical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong PC and use of PC applications

Responsibilities

Perform fault finding and repair activities on new, loaner, demo and trade show instruments.
Support the logistics associated with new, loaner, demo and trade show instruments; including set-up, review, repair, maintenance, QC, pack-up and physical movement to and from warehouse.
Independently perform QC activities on all instruments on an as-need basis.
Complete comprehensive written service reports and cases for assigned activities.
Move new large instruments in and out of the service center and crates and uncrates instruments.
Manage own spare parts inventory including ordering, receiving, counting, reconciling and merchandising.
Support internal and external customers via email, phone and video to troubleshoot, repair and coordinate parts, service and replacement or loaner instruments.
Support Technician I and II class employees in the completion of their work.
May travel Domestically/Internationally up to 10% per quarter.
