This position involves working primarily in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys as a Rod Person/Instrument Tech of a two or three-person field crew at an assigned worksite. The role requires performing mathematical calculations, field checking of data, reading and understanding plans and specifications, and knowing basic sources of measurement errors. The technician will also be responsible for digging to locate survey monuments, holding and plumbing rods for elevations and distances, and driving stakes for construction projects. Providing quality customer service and demonstrating safe working methods for tools and equipment are also key aspects of the job.
