About The Position

The RME Technician is responsible for ensuring that SPD prep/assembly and OR core technicians have reasonable access and information to find the reusable medical equipment (RME) they need to do their jobs (i.e. surgical/procedural instrumentation/implants requiring UAMS sterilization/scopes/etc.).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as an Instrument Tech or recent certification as an Instrument Tech.
  • Certified Instrument Tech.

Responsibilities

  • Performs decontamination, assembly, and packaging of medical equipment and tools.
  • Provides assistance to operating room staff.
  • Provides staff with necessary supplies and/or equipment.
  • Loads up and transports medical instruments and equipment.
  • Performs tests on and utilizes mechanical equipment in the completion of duties.
  • Ensures proper storage of instrumentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
