About The Position

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for an Instrumental Specialist Trainee in Richland, WA. This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman level qualifications required via one of the following criteria: Completion of a technical school and a minimum of three years of industry experience.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program with 8,100 documents hours in a recognized apprenticeship program and a minimum of three years of industry experience.
  • Five years industry experience in related responsibilities/job requirements
  • Equivalent experience (e.g. military, industry) may be substituted for the 8,100 document hours or any other industry experience requirements.
  • Hanford Instrument Specialists who are not training and qualified via trade school program or equivalent military experience are qualified to perform specific tasks through demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to their assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain highly complex instruments, control systems, and related equipment used in the Laboratory to generate, accumulate, and record scientific data from experimental operations and processes.
  • Assemble instrument components into complex workable systems as designed to accomplish stated results.
  • Work from sketches, prints, or oral instructions.
  • May direct others.
