About The Position

Client is seeking an experienced Instrument Planner to support maintenance and reliability programs within an oil and gas, petrochemical, or related industrial environment. This role requires strong instrumentation knowledge, hands-on field experience, and demonstrated expertise using SAP for planning, scheduling, and work execution. The successful candidate will coordinate maintenance activities, develop detailed work plans and schedules, support outage and project planning efforts, and collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient and compliant asset performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance planning experience utilizing SAP within oil and gas, petrochemical, pipeline, or related industrial facilities.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of overall relevant maintenance and planning experience.
  • Strong hands-on field experience with instrumentation systems and maintenance activities.
  • Experience creating maintenance job plans, work packages, schedules, and outage plans.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
  • Extensive experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution processes and best practices.
  • Strong instrumentation background is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Degree, Associate Degree, or equivalent technical training preferred.
  • Experience with Prometheus preferred.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software configuration and development is a plus.
  • Experience estimating and planning work involving scaffolding, painting, insulation, heavy equipment operations, rigging/lifting, welding, fabrication, and machining.
  • Experience working within PHMSA-regulated pipeline facilities preferred.
  • Experience with gas compression and metering equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and support maintenance and reliability programs for facility assets.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules and outage plans utilizing planning software.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities to ensure efficient resource utilization, cost control, and effective backlog management.
  • Create detailed job plans and job packs containing all required documentation, procedures, materials, and labor requirements.
  • Coordinate work orders and schedules with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and long-range look-ahead schedules for maintenance and upgrade activities.
  • Support work execution by coordinating manpower availability and dispatching activities.
  • Provide technical support related to CMMS and maintenance management systems.
  • Ensure work orders are properly documented and maintained for compliance and historical reference.
  • Identify material requirements and coordinate with vendors and supply chain personnel to ensure availability.
  • Request revisions to existing procedures and assist with writing and updating maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Generate reports related to schedule compliance, maintenance performance, and inspection regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze deviations, trends, and performance data, including the preparation of graphical reports and presentations.
  • Recommend process improvements and training opportunities to enhance work execution effectiveness.
  • Support budget development and planning activities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business objectives.
