About The Position

As an Instrument Person at BSE Consultants an LJA Company, you will be responsible for transporting, operating and setting up instruments and equipment associated with the performance of land surveying activities on a survey crew.

Requirements

• HS Graduate or GED
• Valid State of Florida drivers’ license
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the day to day activities of a survey crew
• Be proficient in the operation of various surveying instruments including total stations, data collectors, levels, GPS equipment, etc.
• Have basic knowledge and understanding of the requirements for various types surveys
• Be able to perform basic surveying calculations
• Occasional lifting/carrying of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds
• Driving to and from various project sites
• Walking and working outdoors under variable weather and site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport, operation and set up instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing job site for construction activities
• Clear brush or trees away from survey line
• Lays out stakes to prepare for elevation measurements
