About The Position

The Natick Public Schools Music Department is looking to add to its staff of "after school" Music teachers. We are looking for individuals to teach percussion for grades 4-12 in our afterschool program. The ideal candidate will identify concepts and methods that advance playing for beginners through advanced students, implement technical lessons that correspond to the standards being taught in band classes, differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, teach in class, small group, duo, and private lessons, employ methods that motivate students, have strong classroom management skills, be able to work independently, prepare upper level students for recitals, be positive, encouraging, and make students want to explore music more deeply, and maintain high expectations for performance.

• Rating of education and experience.
• Oral interviews.
• Reference check.
• Strong record of work performance in current and previous roles.
• Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.), and fingerprints.
