About The Position

Audubon is currently seeking an Instrument Field Technician to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Instrument Field Technician installs, calibrates, maintains, and repairs electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment (valves, transmitters, analyzers) to ensure safety and efficiency in industrial plants.

Requirements

  • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Five years' experience as an Instrument Field Technician
  • Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, inventories and catalogs instrument for calibration.
  • Set ups calibration and loop files.
  • Instrument tubing Fitting/bending (Process Tubing, air, etc.)
  • Records calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand.
  • Tests accuracy of flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments to locate defective components in system, using test equipment.
  • Keeps loop drawings, installs air tubing and control tubing runs, works start up following start up procedures; inspects meters, indicators and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations.
  • Removes defective instruments from system and decontaminates, disassembles and cleans instruments and replaces defective parts.
  • Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing.
  • Inspects meters, indicators, and gauges to help detect causes of abnormal fluctuations in process measurements.
  • Able to troubleshoot equipment for efficiency.
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
