About The Position

We are seeking an Instrument & Electrical Technician to be a part of the Maintenance team based in Charlotte, NC, working days for six months, then nights for six months, before rotating back to days. Flexibility to work both schedules is required. This position directly reports to the I&E Supervisor and does not supervise others.

Requirements

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required
3+ years’ experience in an industrial environment performing instrumentation & electrical work required
Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of AC/DC electrical systems required
Ability to repair and/or replace electrical components required
Ability to read/comprehend electrical schematics required

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or certificate in Electrical Technology highly preferred
5+ years preferred experience in an industrial environment performing instrumentation & electrical work
Experience supporting instrumentation and control loops for temperature, pressure, tension, and flow
Experience supporting Blown or Cast Film Extrusion
Experience supporting Lamination
Experience supporting Process Ovens
Experience supporting Web Coating
Experience supporting Web Converting Equipment
Experience supporting Automation and Robotics
Military technical experience in electrical, instrumentation, electronics, automation, or control systems is welcomed and will be considered equivalent to related civilian experience where applicable.
Ability to perform diagnostics and set-up of PLC & AC Inverter drives; preferred experience on Allen Bradley RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, and Powerflex drives
PIV equipment experience (forklifts, portable hoist, cherry picker, one-man lift, etc.)
Experience and knowledge of mechanical systems a plus
Experience supporting instrumentation and control loops for temperature, pressure, tension, and flow preferred
Experience supporting Fanuc robotics troubleshooting and repair.
Experience supporting Omron AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical calibrations & preventative maintenance
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical power systems, motor drives, control systems, as well as instruments used in the systems
Understand and safely use test equipment such as volt, Ohm, current meters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes
Disassemble, clean, reassemble production equipment
Install and/or verify correct instrument installation
Support new equipment installations with point-to-point verification prior to start up
Update electrical drawings & procedures, when needed
Write detailed written reports
Operate PIV equipment (forklifts, portable hoist, cherry picker, one-man lift, etc.)
Repair and/or replace electrical components
Train other maintenance personnel on I&E systems and personal areas of expertise
Work collaboratively with all maintenance and manufacturing personnel
Participate in cross-functional teams to contribute to continuous improvement
Follow all Celgard safety guidelines and procedures and demonstrate a strong ability to support a safe work culture
