About The Position

Accountable for the daily supervision, direction, coordination, and development of Instrument & Electrical Technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The following duties represent the general scope of the role and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant industrial maintenance or electrical/instrumentation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of chemical plant equipment, maintenance practices, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Detailed understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements related to maintenance activities.
  • Ability to assist technicians in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical system issues.
  • Effective planning and resource allocation skills to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate with operations regarding maintenance scheduling and priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to address performance issues and implement corrective actions consistently and fairly.
  • Employees are expected to identify and report environmental concerns and support compliance with environmental policies and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
  • Familiarity with site-specific processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct Instrument & Electrical Technicians in the maintenance and repair of plant machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance planners, operations, and other departments to establish work priorities and schedule resources effectively.
  • Authorize requisitions for tools, materials, and equipment necessary to complete assigned work.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities including incident and near-miss investigations, timecard approvals, reporting, documentation of personnel matters, and development of procedures.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations; promote a strong safety culture.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and quality expectations.
  • Fulfill assigned responsibilities within the site Emergency Response Plan.
  • Train and coach employees on safety practices and accident prevention; lead investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to work processes, equipment utilization, and overall efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve technical and personnel-related work issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, work orders, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Directly supervise all Instrument & Electrical Technicians.
  • Interview, hire, train, coach, mentor, and assign daily work activities.
  • Manage employee performance, including evaluations, development planning, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring the department’s annual budget.
  • Approve timecards and expense reports for assigned personnel.
