About The Position

Control Tech is seeking candidates who are currently based in Dawson Creek for a 3rd-4th Year Instrument Apprentice field technician role. This position involves working with and learning from Instrument Journeymen and other apprentices. The apprentice will gain practical skills in testing, calibrating, installing, repairing, and inspecting manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.

Requirements

Registered Apprentice, preferred.
High School Diploma
Standard First Aid/CPR with AED; H2S Alive, CSO, CSTS.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards.

Nice To Haves

Experience in oil and gas is an asset.

Responsibilities

Learns to read and understand P&ID drawings.
Assists with Installing process control and measurement instrumentation on existing and new field equipment and processes (transmitters, controllers, analyzers, control valves, etc.).
Performs mechanical work associated with instrument repair and modification; removes and installs small piping and tubing.
Rebuilds control valves and tune controllers.
Performs preventative maintenance on instrumentation (calibration, replacement and tests as required); maintains field instrument records and standards.
Uses pressure and/or electrical test equipment to troubleshoot systems.
Installs and repairs chemical pumps.
Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
Provides on-call support as required.
Other duties as required.
