About The Position

This role involves installing and maintaining electrical and instrument equipment essential for production operations. The technician will be responsible for testing and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems, evaluating issues, planning repairs, and meticulously documenting problems and the actions taken. The position requires adherence to applicable laws, standards, specifications, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental requirements. Collaboration with operations, engineering, and projects teams is key, including reviewing electrical and control specifications and work practices. The technician must follow the Permit to Work System and Work Management Manual, complete scheduled maintenance, and assist in prioritizing work. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting electrical and control systems, providing technical support to other technicians, preparing Management of Change requests, and conducting installation inspections in line with OIMS Element 3. The role entails inspecting new installations, recommending upgrades, sharing technical updates with the team, and potentially acting as a substitute for the Instrument and Electrical Lead.

Requirements

Associate degree and technical certifications required.
Experience maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in a processing plant or offshore production plant.
Familiarity with oil and gas facility regulations and OIMS procedures.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain electrical and instrument equipment used by production operations.
Test and repair electrical and instrumentation systems.
Evaluate issues, plan repairs, and document problems and actions taken.
Plan and oversee work in accordance with applicable laws, standards, specifications, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Coordinate with operations, engineering, and projects; review electrical and control specifications and work practices.
Follow the Permit to Work System and Work Management Manual.
Complete scheduled maintenance and help prioritize work.
Troubleshoot electrical and control systems and provide technical support to other technicians.
Prepare Management of Change requests and follow up with installation inspections consistent with OIMS Element 3.
Inspect new installations, recommend upgrades, share technical updates with the team, and stand in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead when needed.
